Our leading client, working in the construction / building supplies sector (large materials), requires a Customer Service Manager / Customer Delivery Manager to oversee deliveries (must be on time - current OTIF is 90-100%) and organise schedules - as well as manage all customer expectations, calls and make sure the customer is kept informed of the process at all times.
The logistics element can apparently be learnt quite easily, as large objects, though any experience is useful it is the Customer / relationship building experience and skills that they want to join the firm the most!
The customer is incredibly important in this business, large though it is, if the customer is not happy, products do not get delivered in the delivery slot / right day, then they wont use them again - therefore decisive, strong communication, excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage customer relationships in a very high level manner across their construction industry clients is absolutely vital!
The Logistics element is not too hard to do, you will be working with an ERP system, however the customer management skill set is absolutely vital to have - you must come across superbly and be able to ensure client satisfaction through clear communication of deliveries, issues and be able to cope with stress during the busy few months of the summer - where they reach a peak!
